A deputy from the Servant of the People party let her 11-year-old daughter drive a car
Svitlana Maksymchuk, a deputy of the Kryvyi Rih City Council from the Servant of the People party, found herself at the center of discussions after publishing a video with her 11-year-old daughter behind the wheel of a car.
The video appeared on the deputy’s TikTok and quickly spread across social media.
The footage shows the child driving the car while the deputy is nearby. Users also noted that neither the driver nor the passenger were wearing seat belts.
“Mother waited,” Maksymchuk captioned the video.
After the video was published, social media began to actively criticize such actions. Users emphasize that giving a child the control of a car is dangerous and illegal.
“This is not entertainment, but a risk to the life of the child and other traffic participants,” people write in the comments.
The deputy later publicly responded to the situation and admitted that she had made a mistake.
“The main thing about mistakes is to be willing to admit them and take responsibility,” she wrote on social media.
According to Maksymchuk, she has already paid the fine and made her conclusions after talking to law enforcement officers.
The patrol police of Kryvyi Rih reported that they promptly responded to the video that spread on the Internet. Law enforcement officers identified the participants in the incident and compiled administrative materials.
“The driver of the Hyundai was issued a warrant for transferring control of a vehicle to a person who does not have a driving license,” the police said.
In Ukraine, driving a passenger car is only allowed from the age of 18 after completing training and obtaining a driver’s license.
