A European protocol has been launched in “Diya”: how to register a traffic accident without the police

The “Diya” application has a European protocol that allows drivers to file a traffic accident without calling the police or using paper forms – simply from a smartphone.

This was reported by the press service of “Diya”.

To use the service, drivers need to open the “Services” → “Drivers” → “Europrotocol in Action” section.

The system automatically pulls data about the driver, car, and insurance policy from state registries. After that, the second participant in the accident can be added using a QR code or a special link.

Next, the drivers together note the circumstances of the accident, add photos of the damage, a diagram of the accident, date, time, and address. After checking the data, both parties sign the document using “Action.Signature”.

After signing, “Diya” automatically transfers the Europrotocol to the Motor Transport Insurance Bureau of Ukraine, and from there the document is sent to insurance companies.

At the same time, the service is not available in every case. The Europrotocol is available if only two cars were involved in the accident, there were no fatalities or injuries, no other property was damaged, both drivers are sober and have valid MTPL policies .

Also, both participants must have the “Diya” application, a verified RNOKPP, a digital passport, a driver’s license, a car registration certificate, and a valid car registration certificate.

We will remind, back in December 2025, the government announced the launch of the full registration of the European protocol in “Diya” . At that time, it was reported that the service would allow recording accidents without the police and paper documents.

Previously, the car reregistration service, which allows buying and selling cars through the application, was also returned to “Diya” .
