A video of a drone allegedly flying a Russian flag over Kyiv has been circulating online. Police said the information was not confirmed during an investigation.

Law enforcement officers responded to the outcry caused by the spread of a video on social media with the tricolor over the capital.

The police noted that they checked the published information and found no confirmation of the launch of a drone with a Russian flag over Kyiv.

“We urge media representatives and Telegram channel administrators to verify the accuracy of information before publishing it to the general public,” the police said.

Earlier, on December 20, a video was shared on social media, allegedly showing a drone with the flag of the Russian Federation in the sky over Kyiv. The footage quickly spread through local public forums and Telegram channels.

The video showed an FPV drone with a flag attached, flying for a short time before falling to the ground with the flag. No airstrike was declared in the city at the time.

The incident was actively picked up by Russian propaganda resources, which distributed materials claiming that “the Russian flag appeared in the center of Kyiv.” Immediately after the video was published, Russian propaganda reacted very violently, demonstrating obvious delight and pleasure from the event.
