Norwegian Princess Astrid, the elder sister of the late King Harald, has died at the age of 94. She last appeared in public at her brother’s funeral on Wednesday.

He ordered the flag on the palace balcony to be lowered to half-mast today and on the day of the funeral. Details on the date of the funeral have not yet been announced.
It is noted that a few months before her death, the princess had serious health problems. Astrid recovered from pneumonia, but in May she was hospitalized again due to heart failure. She was fitted with a temporary pacemaker. She was discharged in the summer.
It is worth adding that Harald’s funeral took place after 13 days of national mourning. The ceremony was held in Oslo Cathedral with the participation of members of the Norwegian royal family and representatives of other monarchies.
According to Norwegian police, tens of thousands of people lined the capital’s Karl Johans Gate during the procession, which began with a 21-gun salute and set off from the royal palace. The security operation for the funeral was the largest planned operation of its kind in Norwegian history.
Recall that King Harald V of Norway died on the morning of August 28 at the age of 89. The monarch passed away at the National Hospital in Oslo at 6:35 a.m. local time.
