A fire and explosion occurred in the Kyiv region after an enemy strike: there are casualties.

An enemy strike in the Bucha district of the Kyiv region has resulted in casualties. The aftermath of the attack continues.

The head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, Timur Tkachenko, announced this.

According to him, the attack resulted in a large-scale fire that spread to private residential buildings.

“The fire in five homes and a restaurant has already been extinguished. Currently, 165 people have been evacuated from the scene. Unfortunately, six people were injured. Everyone is receiving the necessary medical care,” the official said.

Rescuers, medics, police and other emergency services are working at the scene.

Tkachenko later clarified that more than 200 people, including children, had already been evacuated from the scene. An emergency response center was also established in the Bucha district.

“We are working with rescuers, police, medical personnel, and other emergency services to address the aftermath. Firefighters are continuing to extinguish the fire,” he noted.

At 02:22, the head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration reported that there were casualties as a result of the enemy attack.

“We currently have no final information on the number of victims. Rescuers and all relevant services continue to work on the ground,” Tkachenko said.

It was previously reported that on the evening of August 28, a hostile attack in the Bucha district resulted in a fire in warehouses. The fire was accompanied by explosions.

Prior to this, Head of the Patrol Police Department Oleksiy Beloshitskyi announced the closure of all traffic on the M-06 Kyiv-Chop highway. The restrictions apply from kilometers 15 to 32 in both directions.

Prime Minister Sergei Koretsky reported that the Minister of Internal Affairs and the head of the State Emergency Service briefed him on the situation following the enemy strike in the Bucha district. He stated that the strike caused a fire, followed by a subsequent detonation.

Koretsky stated that the tragedy in Vishnevoe did not serve as a lesson.

At the same time, the Prosecutor General’s Office launched an investigation into the facts of waging an aggressive war and possible official negligence in connection with the consequences of the enemy attack in the Bucha district of the Kyiv region.
