A fire at the Sukhoi aircraft plant in Russia threatens production of Su-57 fighter jets.

We are talking about the Gagarin Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Plant , part of the Sukhoi company and a key manufacturer of Russian fighter jets.

The incident was reported by the OSINT project CyberMuka .

According to available video and reports, the fire occurred in workshop No. 46, one of the company’s key divisions.

This workshop specializes in the production of polymer composite parts for the Su-57 , Russia’s only fifth-generation fighter.

We are talking about approximately 300 components, including:

  • aileron and flaperon panels;
  • floor structures;
  • wing elements and other large parts

Production here is largely manual, with some automation, making it dependent on specialized equipment and skilled workers.

As analysts note, workshop No. 46 is a critically important link in the serial production of the Su-35S and especially the Su-57 .

In case of serious damage:

  • Su-57 production may be stopped or significantly slowed down;
  • Only ONPP Technology can provide partial compensation, but this will require a significant amount of time.

There is no official information yet about the scale of the destruction and the causes of the fire.
