Despite suspicions of a possible drone attack, Governor Mykhailo Yevraev stated that the fire was man-made and not related to the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“The fire did indeed break out on the territory of the refinery, but there was no shelling or attack. The situation is under control,” he assured.
The cause of the fire has not been officially announced. At the same time, similar incidents at Russian oil refineries are becoming more frequent, particularly in regions that have not previously been hit.
Recall that on the night of Friday, September 26, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, together with other units of the Defense Forces, struck the facilities of the Afipsk oil refinery in the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation. As a result of the strike, a fire broke out at the facility. It has been confirmed that production workshops were hit – the extent of damage and details are currently being clarified.
As reported, on the night of September 20, drones of the SBU and Special Operations Forces attacked Russian regions, hitting oil pumping stations of the Kuibyshev-Tikhoretsk oil pipeline.
