A grenade exploded in an apartment in Ternopil, there are casualties

On Friday, July 25, an explosion occurred in a multi-story residential building on Volodymyr Vynnychenko Street in Ternopil. As a result of the incident, two people died – a mother and son.

This was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Ternopil region.

The signal about the explosion was received on the special line 102 at about 12:00 from the dispatcher of the State Emergency Service. The investigative and operational group of the Ternopil District Police Department immediately went to the scene.

According to preliminary data, the explosion occurred in an apartment on the third floor. In the house, law enforcement officers found the bodies of two victims – a man born in 1985 and his mother born in 1958.

According to the preliminary version of the police, a combat F-1 grenade may have detonated in the apartment.

Investigators, bomb experts and other services are currently working at the scene. The causes and circumstances of the disaster are being established.
