A grenade exploded near a store: a soldier was detained in Transcarpathia in the North-West Frontier Province

In the village of Lopushne, Khust district, Zakarpattia region, a man threw a grenade near a store. The ammunition exploded, but no one was injured.

This is reported by the police of the Transcarpathian region.

The incident occurred on September 9 at around 6:23 p.m. According to eyewitnesses, the man first showed the grenade to people and then threw it near a store.

Police officers quickly identified the man and detained him. He turned out to be a 33-year-old resident of Lopushne. The police noted that he had left the military unit without permission. The man was drunk at the time of the incident.

Law enforcement officers determined that the grenade was a training grenade.

“The grenade was a training grenade, no one was injured as a result of the incident,” the Transcarpathian police reported.

The detainee was taken to a temporary detention center. According to the SZCH, he is also being investigated for hooliganism under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

If convicted, the man could face three to seven years in prison.

As reported, in the Dnipropetrovsk region, during a sanctioned search, a man who had the status of a person who had voluntarily left a military unit opened aimed fire on police special forces. As a result of the shooting , two KORD fighters were injured, after which the attacker committed suicide.
