Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert “Magyar” Brovdy, reported that on the morning of September 15, the Armed Forces of Ukraine encountered large-scale problems with the operation of the Starlink satellite internet. The failure occurred simultaneously along the entire front line.
He wrote about this in Telegram .
According to “Magyar”, the terminals stopped working at 07:28 Kyiv time. This is confirmed by data from the international service Downdetector, which recorded Starlink outages around the world.
The problems were confirmed by the company itself: the official Starlink website reported a “deterioration in service quality” and stated that a team of engineers was looking for the cause of the failures.
A similar incident already occurred on July 24, 2025. Then Starlink also went down for several hours around the world, including Ukraine. Later, the company restored the network, and Starlink Engineering Vice President Michael Nichols explained that the failure occurred due to problems with the internal software services that manage the network. He apologized to users and assured that the team is working to eliminate the risks of similar situations recurring.
It is worth adding that Starlink plays a critical role in ensuring communications at the front, especially for coordinating the actions of unmanned systems, artillery, and units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Any disruptions in its work immediately affect the effectiveness of combat operations, so the current failure is of particular concern.
By the way, the Polish government has adopted amendments to the law that provide for the restoration of Starlink funding for Ukraine.
It was previously reported that Poland is suspending Starlink funding for Ukraine after President Karol Nawrocki vetoed a law that would have allowed continued support through the Ukraine Assistance Fund.
Recall that in 2022, American billionaire Elon Musk gave the order to disable Starlink satellite terminals over part of the occupied territory of Ukraine , including Kherson, which was then controlled by Russia.
