On Friday, March 13, a powerful red-level magnetic storm began on Earth, which could last for several days.

This is evidenced by data from the Meteoagent portal.

In the morning, the K-index, which shows the level of geomagnetic activity, rose to 5. This indicator corresponds to a red-level magnetic storm.

The British Geological Survey explained that the cause was a high-speed stream of particles from a coronal hole on the Sun, which was heading towards Earth.

“Its arrival is likely to increase geomagnetic activity to an active state and potentially the magnetic storm will reach the G1 level,” the scientists noted.

According to experts’ forecasts, increased geomagnetic activity may persist at least on March 14 and 15.

Magnetic storms can affect people’s well-being and the operation of equipment. On such days, some people complain of fatigue, headaches, pressure drops, or problems sleeping. The most sensitive to such changes may be weather-dependent people and those with cardiovascular diseases.

Experts advise to get more rest during magnetic storms, avoid stress and excessive strain, drink enough water, limit coffee and alcohol consumption, and spend more time outdoors. A good night’s sleep and a calm daily routine will help the body survive the period of geomagnetic activity more easily.
