A major pipeline supplying fuel to Moscow is on fire in Russia
A powerful explosion has been heard on the Ryazan-Moscow main oil pipeline in the Ryazan region of Russia. It is one of the main sources of oil products supply to the Russian capital.
This was reported by Ukrinform, citing sources in the State Security Service.
On August 26, a powerful explosion occurred on the Ryazan-Moscow main oil pipeline in the Ryazan region.
The State Unitary Enterprise noted that after reports appeared in local public forums about a strong “bang” on a section of the oil pipeline, a strong fire broke out. Within a few hours, emergency vehicles were dispatched to the site of the explosion.
Local residents report that law enforcement agencies and repair crews are in the area of the village of Bozhatkovo, railway district of the city of Ryazan, trying to eliminate the consequences of the explosion.
It is worth noting that since 2018, the affected highway has been supplying automobile gasoline to the Transneft company, which supplies the army of the aggressor state.
According to the GUR, as a result of the incident, the transportation of petroleum products to Moscow has been suspended for an indefinite period.
As a reminder, fuel shortages are increasing on the temporarily occupied peninsula. In Simferopol and other cities of Crimea, A95 gasoline has disappeared from gas stations , causing some gas stations to close.
It was previously reported that Ukrainian drones destroyed about 13% of the capacity of Russian refineries. This caused a gasoline crisis within Russia .
