A massive drone attack on Odessa left two dead, and a child among the injured.
On the night of March 28, Russian drones launched a massive attack on Odessa, destroying residential buildings and infrastructure.
The head of the city military administration, Sergei Lysak, reported this.
The Primorsky District suffered the most damage. A drone struck the roof of a maternity hospital there, but staff and patients managed to evacuate to shelter. A multi-story building was also partially destroyed, and windows in nearby buildings were damaged. Fires broke out in private homes, and damage was reported to three educational institutions.
In the Khadzhibey district, a drone struck a residential high-rise building, setting apartments and the roof ablaze. In the Kyiv district, non-residential buildings were damaged, and windows in residential buildings were shattered.
Initial reports indicated one dead and 11 injured. Subsequently, Odesa Special Operations Commander Oleh Kiper clarified that the number of wounded had risen to 12, including a child—a 9-year-old boy—in moderate condition. Two adults are in serious condition.
Rescuers later recovered another body from the rubble, bringing the death toll to two.
According to Lisak, there were 80 people in the maternity hospital at the time of the attack, 33 of whom were medical workers. All of them took shelter in time, preventing casualties inside the facility.
Emergency rescue operations and liquidation of the consequences of the shelling continue at the impact sites.
