A new acting rector has been appointed at KNU: what is known

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has appointed the acting rector of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Director of the Institute of International Relations Valeriy Kopiyka has become him.

This was reported by the Student Parliament of Kyiv National University.

The corresponding order was signed by the Minister of Education, Oksen Lisovyi, in connection with the termination of the contract of the previous rector.

The post notes that the new head is wished “strength and endurance in restoring trust in the university and its role in the higher education system of Ukraine,” as well as “establishing its authority” and creating a qualitatively new educational environment.

The election of the new rector of KNU is scheduled for May 27.

At the same time, the issue of the participation of the previous leader, Volodymyr Bugrov, in the elections has not yet been resolved – it will be considered by a special commission, taking into account the judicial circumstances.

The student parliament has also already invited Valeriy Kopiyka to an open meeting with students.

As reported, the day before, Volodymyr Bugrov was officially dismissed from the position of rector of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
