The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has opened a new international automobile checkpoint “Bila Tserkva – Sighetu Marmației” on the border with Romania in the Tyachiv district of the Transcarpathian region. Until the construction is completed, it will operate using temporary infrastructure.

This is stated in Resolution No. 1130 , approved by the government on September 17.

The new checkpoint will have a permanent operating mode and will operate around the clock .

It will allow the passage of passenger vehicles with a maximum permissible weight of up to 3.5 tons .

The government separately instructed the State Border Guard and State Customs Services to ensure the work of their units at the new checkpoint.

The checkpoint is being opened before its construction is fully completed. To this end, the Cabinet of Ministers made an exception to the general rule, according to which the decision to open a checkpoint is made after its construction or reconstruction is completed.

The Bila Tserkva – Sighetu Marmației checkpoint is located on the Ukrainian-Romanian border in the Transcarpathian region. Earlier, Ukraine and Romania agreed to build a new transport connection here across the Tisza River.

We remind you that recently “Pryamiy” wrote that starting September 20, bus traffic through the “Shehyny-Medika” checkpoint on the border with Poland will change. Carriers were offered three alternative routes.

Also on September 1, Russian troops attacked the Orlivka international checkpoint on the border with Romania. The strike damaged border infrastructure.
