A new investigative commission has appeared in the Rada — it will monitor compliance with children’s rights

The Verkhovna Rada supported the decision to create a Temporary Investigative Commission (TSC), which will investigate alleged violations of children’s rights in the formation and implementation of state policy in the field of childhood protection. 300 people’s deputies voted for Resolution No. 13690.

This was reported by an Ukrinform correspondent from the parliament hall.

The main goal of the commission is to strengthen parliamentary oversight in the field of children’s rights protection. In particular, it concerns checking compliance with children’s rights during the implementation of state programs, strategies, and initiatives aimed at supporting families and minors.

The explanatory note to the resolution emphasizes that the protection of children’s rights is one of the key areas of state policy and an international obligation of Ukraine within the framework of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

The TSC was headed by Pavlo Sushko, a member of parliament from the Servant of the People party. His deputy was Larysa Bilozir (Dover group).

The resolution defines the key tasks of the commission, the rules of its activities, reporting to parliament, and the term of office — the TSC will operate for one year from the moment of its establishment.

As a reminder, the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) has published clarifications regarding additional payments for childcare . The allowance is provided for parents, guardians and some other categories of citizens who provide constant care for a child with a disability or serious illness.

As reported, starting from the new school year, the government is expanding the free lunch program for schoolchildren . For the first time, free lunches will be provided not only to elementary school students, but also to middle and high school students in a number of regions most affected by the war.
