Ukraine has launched domestic production of FlyEye reconnaissance drones, systems that have proven their effectiveness on the battlefield for nearly a decade. The step both strengthens Ukraine’s defense capabilities and underscores deepening cooperation with Poland’s defense industry.
This is reported by Grupa WB.

The company has officially announced the start of production of FlyEye unmanned aerial systems at Ukrainian enterprises. This decision was made against the backdrop of the growing needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for modern reconnaissance drones that have proven their effectiveness in the most difficult conditions of war.

The first FlyEye drones were delivered to Ukraine in 2015, and since then, they have become one of the most important tools for the Armed Forces. These UAVs are valued for their survivability, ease of use, and versatility. They can:

  • operate with different modules – from day-vision cameras to thermal imagers and relay systems;

  • be launched without special equipment – a simple hand launch is enough;

  • remain undetected by enemy radars thanks to their flight characteristics;

  • conduct long reconnaissance missions with minimal logistical support.

Experts note that FlyEye is not only one of the most widely used but also one of the most reliable drones at the front. Its lightweight design allows it to be carried in just two backpacks, while the automatic landing system enables successful missions even in difficult conditions.

Launching production in Ukraine ensures faster deliveries to the army and supports the development of the country’s own defense industry. It also reduces risks to supply security, given Russia’s ongoing attacks on defense facilities.

Recently, Polish Ambassador to Ukraine Piotr Łukaszewicz visited the factories where production has started. He emphasized the importance of Ukrainian-Polish cooperation in strengthening regional security.

FlyEye is actively used not only in Ukraine and Poland but also in the armed forces of several European and Asian countries. With local production, Ukrainian troops will gain quicker access to proven, reliable systems that have already demonstrated their effectiveness in combat.

As a reminder, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that successful tests of the Ukrainian Flamingo missile have already taken place, and its mass production should begin early next year.

Earlier, it became known that Ukraine received at its disposal a new generation cruise missile called “Flamingo”. Its range is 3000 km, and the warhead weighs one ton – it is twice as powerful as the American Tomahawk. The missile is an analog of the FP-5 from the Milanion Group, which is already ready to produce dozens of such weapons every month.
