A one-time payment of 50 thousand hryvnias for families with children has been launched in Ukraine: how to apply

In Ukraine, a law on a one-time state allowance for the birth of a child in the amount of 50 thousand hryvnias came into force on January 1. There are two ways to make a payment – through the Pension Fund of Ukraine or using digital services.

This was stated by the First Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine, Lyudmila Shemelinets, during a telethon.

It is noted that from January 1, 2026, a law officially came into effect in Ukraine, which provides for the payment of a one-time state allowance at the birth of a child in the amount of 50 thousand hryvnias.

According to Shemelinets, the state has provided two equivalent mechanisms for submitting an application to receive payment.

How to issue a payment of 50 thousand hryvnias:

• apply to the Pension Fund of Ukraine in person;
• apply through the “eMalyatko” service, which is available in the “Diya” application.

The Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine noted that at the initial stage of the program’s implementation, technical nuances in the operation of digital services are possible.

“Since the technical implementation of the program may take some time, if you want to apply for assistance today, then you need to contact the Pension Fund,” said Lyudmila Shemelinets.

Who can make a payment:

• the mother of a child born after the law came into force;
• a person who submits an application in accordance with the established procedure in accordance with current legislation.

The payment is one-time and is made after submitting an application and verifying the necessary data. The law does not cancel or change other types of state support for families with children that are in effect in Ukraine.

As you know, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a draft law on family assistance before and after childbirth . The law provides for an increase in a one-time payment to women after childbirth from UAH 10.3 thousand to UAH 50 thousand

By the way, from January 1, 2026, several key rules will change for Ukrainians at once . The innovations will affect gas payments, taxes for individual entrepreneurs, conditions for reservation from mobilization, and pension indexation.

It was previously reported that, against the backdrop of an increase in the minimum wage and the subsistence minimum, taxes for individual entrepreneurs will increase.
