A parcel exploded at the Ukrposhta sorting center in Kyiv: many people were injured

On Thursday, October 30, an explosion occurred at one of the Ukrposhta sorting centers in Kyiv.

This was reported by the State Customs Service and the head of Ukrposhta, Ihor Smilyansky .

The incident occurred during customs control of international postal items that were being processed for export from Ukraine.

As is known, five people were injured in the explosion — two employees of Kyiv Customs and three employees of Ukrposhta. They were provided with the necessary medical assistance.

Investigative actions are currently underway. In particular, the identity of the sender has already been established, and another package with dangerous contents has been discovered and seized.

“The clearance of shipments in this zone has been temporarily suspended, work will be resumed as soon as possible, taking into account the security situation. Import clearance is taking place as usual,” the customs service emphasized.
