U.S. President Donald Trump’s special envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, will visit Kyiv in the coming days ahead of a Kremlin deadline for a peace deal. The visit is expected to focus on strengthening Ukraine’s air defenses, supplying modern weapons and agreeing on new sanctions against Russia.

This is reported by Kyiv Post .

According to journalists, Kellogg will arrive in Ukraine just days before August 8, the date that US President Donald Trump has called the deadline for concluding a peace agreement with Russia. The visit comes amid rising tensions and active diplomatic moves by Washington.

The newspaper’s sources note that Kellogg’s trip coincides with plans by Trump’s special envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, to travel to Moscow at the invitation of the Russian side. Although Trump initially assessed the initiative skeptically, it eventually received the “green light”.

During his last visit to Kyiv two weeks ago, Kellogg held talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and other senior officials.

The main topics were strengthening Ukraine’s air defense, including the deployment of additional modern systems in the capital, increasing supplies of defensive weapons, and preparing a new package of sanctions against Russia. The Ukrainian side emphasized that during the week that Kellogg was in Kyiv, Russia did not launch missile attacks on the city.

It is expected that the current visit may be accompanied by practical steps to strengthen Kyiv’s air defense shield, because given the deadline and uncertainty in the negotiations, the risk of new strikes from the Russian Federation remains.

As you know, on August 14, US President’s Special Representative Keith Kellogg visited Ukraine.

As a reminder, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Keith Kellogg previously held a conversation in Rome . In particular, they discussed the supply of weapons, strengthening Ukrainian air defense, as well as sanctions against the Russian Federation and its partners.
