A powerful earthquake struck Turkey

On September 28, a magnitude 5.4 earthquake shook northwestern Turkey.

The Associated Press reported this, citing data from the AFAD emergency management agency.

The epicenter of the tremor was recorded near the city of Simav, Kütahya Province, at a depth of approximately 8 km. The seismopodium occurred at 12:59 PM and was accompanied by a magnitude 4.0 aftershock.

According to local media reports, tremors were also felt in Istanbul, located approximately 100 km from the epicenter.
