A period of increased geomagnetic activity begins on Earth on May 15. Scientists warn of a magnetic storm that will last several days and gradually weaken by May 17.
This is evidenced by data from the Meteoagent service.
The cause of the phenomenon was a coronal hole on the Sun, which is currently turning towards our planet and affecting space weather.
The storm is forecast to be mostly a weak G1, but could intensify to G2 at times. This means moderate fluctuations in the Earth’s magnetic field.
Experts note that such storms can affect people’s well-being. Those sensitive to weather changes may experience headaches, fatigue, drowsiness, or pressure drops.
Geomagnetic activity is expected to gradually decrease over the next few days.
