A powerful magnetic storm will cover Ukraine and bring auroras

On Thursday, February 5, Ukraine will be covered by a powerful red-level magnetic storm.
This is evidenced by data from the Meteoagent portal.
Scientists explain that the cause was a huge sunspot AR4366, which is currently facing Earth and is actively emitting solar flares. Over the past week, it has caused more than 20 powerful M and X-class flares, including the most powerful since 2024 – X8.
Previous flares have already affected Earth: on February 4, an X4.2-class flare disrupted radio communications in parts of Southern Europe and West Africa.
It should be noted that magnetic storms can cause disruptions in radio, navigation systems, and power grids.
A magnetic storm on February 5 will allow the observation of the aurora borealis at lower latitudes than usual.
Sunspot AR4366 is so large that it can be seen without a telescope using special eclipse-viewing sunglasses. Scientists predict that it will release several more powerful flares in the coming days that could affect Earth.
