A red-level magnetic storm has covered the planet: how to protect yourself

A magnetic storm is expected on Earth on Thursday, December 11, experts from the British Geological Survey warn. It will be the result of a series of coronal mass ejections that occurred on the Sun on December 6, 8 and 9.
This is evidenced by data from the meteoagent portal and the British Geological Survey.
According to astronomers, the December 6th outburst passed by Earth and did not cause significant geomagnetic disturbances. Instead, the events of December 8th and 9th were partially directed at our planet, which is what determines the expected impact today. The predicted strengthening of the magnetic field is assessed as weak — level G1. However, according to meteoagent, the K-index has already reached 6, which corresponds to a G2 level storm.
Geomagnetic fluctuations can affect people’s well-being : some people experience headaches, fatigue, sleep disturbances, or general weakness. It is impossible to completely avoid the effects of a magnetic storm, but you can reduce it by following simple rules.
Experts advise getting more rest, avoiding overload and difficult tasks, drinking enough water, and limiting coffee and alcohol consumption. Light physical activity, such as walking in the fresh air, helps stabilize the body’s condition.
