A restless night in Russia: explosions near refineries, airfields and massive aviation failures

On the night of November 28, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that it had allegedly shot down 136 Ukrainian drones, while explosions and air defense operations were recorded in a number of regions of the Russian Federation.

According to Moscow, the drones attacked several regions of the Russian Federation at once, as well as the Black and Azov Seas, and occupied Crimea. The largest number of drones—46—was allegedly shot down by the local air defense over the Rostov Region.
The summary also states:
Saratov region — 30 drones;
Crimea — 29;
Black Sea – 12;
Among the cities that were hit were Bryansk, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kursk, and Kaluga regions.
Residents of the Saratov region reported loud explosions and smoke in an industrial zone. Local social media posts reported possible flights near an oil refinery and an airfield from which Russia takes off strategic bombers.
Governor Roman Busargin acknowledged the threat of drone attacks and said that all services were on full alert. Videos of flares in the industrial zone area appeared online.
A series of explosions were also reported in Taganrog, Rostov Oblast. According to the Astra channel, one of the explosions occurred approximately 1.3 km from a military airfield where two aircraft had previously been hit. Geolocation of the video confirms that the explosion was visible from Polyakovsky Highway.
Due to the threat of drones, Rosaviatsia temporarily restricted the operation of a number of airports on the night of November 28. The “Carpet” plan was introduced in Samara, Penza, Volgograd, Saratov, Ulyanovsk, Krasnodar, Sochi, and Gelendzhik.
As a reminder, on the night of November 27 , explosions were heard on the territory of the Novokuybyshevsk oil refinery in the Samara region.
As reported, on the night of November 26 , an attack by unknown drones was recorded in Cheboksary, Chuvash Republic of the Russian Federation . A local defense plant was likely attacked again.
