The head of the Presidential Office, Kirill Budanov, stated that Russian Colonel General Andrei Ivanayev had already reported to Vladimir Putin about the alleged capture of Dobropillya in the Donetsk region. According to Budanov, the commander is now demanding that his subordinates confirm this false statement.

Budanov reported this on Facebook.

He emphasized that Dobropillya is under Ukrainian control, so claims about its capture by Russian troops are not true.

According to the head of the OP, Ivanaev, commander of the Center group of forces, is misinforming Vladimir Putin, intimidating his subordinates, and setting them unrealistic goals—to demonstrate the capture of a city he has already reported at any cost.

Budanov also noted that, amid the complex negotiations to achieve sustainable peace, it is important to assess the situation and convey truthful information.

He emphasized that the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold their positions, and that the false statements of the Russian command will not change the situation on the ground.
