Russian UAV launch complex hit

“On September 21, Ukrainian military personnel struck a facility near the settlement of Tsymbulovo, Oryol region of the Russian Federation, where strike drones were stored, prepared, and launched,” the defense ministry said.

At least three UAV storage facilities were damaged. A fire broke out there. A drone launch pad and five launchers were also damaged.

The complex in the Tsymbulovo district of the Oryol region of the Russian Federation is one of the large facilities where Russian troops store, prepare for use and launch strike UAVs into Ukraine. It is located approximately 175–180 km from the Ukrainian border. Construction of the facility began in 2024, and during 2026 its territory was actively expanded.

According to satellite images, the complex covers an area of about 2×4 km. It includes storage facilities for drones, auxiliary facilities, and launch pads. As of mid-2026, researchers had recorded at least 12 active positions, and according to other data, their number could increase to 16.

The complex, in particular, houses strike drones of the “Geran” family. It also includes jet modifications of the “Geran-3”, “Geran-4” and “Geran-5”. According to researchers, the facility can accommodate hundreds of such drones at the same time.

The General Staff added that they are systematically striking storage, training, and launch sites for attack UAVs in order to reduce the ability of Russian troops to strike civilian targets in Ukraine.

“Work on key enemy military targets continues,” the department concluded.

It was previously reported that within the framework of Operation “MoLoChKa”, the Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces struck and disabled 300 vessels of the Russian “shadow fleet” in the Azov and Black Seas in 11 weeks.
