In the Kyiv region, a business owner was exposed for setting up an illegal fuel business. He involved an accountant at an oil depot, a deputy from one of the territorial communities, and other accomplices in the scheme.
This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine .
According to the investigation, the amount of damage exceeds UAH 19.5 million, and the value of the seized property exceeds UAH 27 million.
During the pre-trial investigation, officers of the National Police and detectives of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine established the location of the participants in the underground oil refining business scheme.
The defendants in the case produced counterfeit fuel on the territory of an oil depot located in the Bila Tserkva district of the Kyiv region.
It is known that the company to which the oil depot is registered does not have an appropriate license for such activities, but only officially pays for electricity.
Another company has received a license to wholesale fuel at this address.
The owner turned out to be a 52-year-old Kyiv resident who owns several other businesses of a similar profile.
This allowed the use of a defunct oil refinery for the illegal production and sale of adulterated fuel.
The criminals produced gasoline and diesel fuel by mixing raw materials and adding various additives. The products were sold through local farms, individuals, and a network of gas stations under the guise of high-quality fuel.
The results of the examination revealed that the fuel did not meet the requirements of state standards (DSTU).
The court seized the seized property, including fuel and lubricants, an oil depot, and vehicles with a total value of over UAH 27 million.
All participants in the scheme face up to five years in prison with confiscation of property and destruction of illegally manufactured products, equipment, and raw materials.
