The SBU and the BEB exposed a company that was embezzling defense funds allocated for the construction of a command post of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Zhytomyr region.

According to the investigation, a scheme to embezzle budget funds during the construction of a military facility in the Zhytomyr region was uncovered.
A co-owner of a private enterprise has been detained, suspected of embezzling budget funds allocated for the construction of an Armed Forces command post.
During the construction of the facility, according to the investigation, at least UAH 2.7 million was misappropriated.
The company received a contract to build a command post for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to the contract, the owner of the company, who is also a technical supervision engineer, was to monitor the quality of construction work and compliance with the deadlines for its completion.
Despite this, she transferred the unfinished object to the military unit’s balance sheet and signed the relevant acts, despite the missed deadlines.
The investigation found that poor-quality materials were used during construction, making the facility currently unsuitable for use for defense purposes.
An engineering and technical forensic examination confirmed the inadequate condition of the military facility.
Currently, the person involved has been notified of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (official negligence). She faces up to 5 years in prison. An investigation is underway to identify all persons involved in the transaction.
