A second explosion occurred in a high-rise building in Odessa: rescuers were injured

On the evening of October 20, an unknown object exploded in a high-rise building in the Primorsky district of Odessa. The explosion caused a fire and destroyed apartments. During the extinguishing, another explosion occurred, injuring three rescuers and an ambulance doctor.

This was reported by the Odessa Region State Emergency Service Department on Facebook.

“An explosion of an unknown object occurred in a 7-story residential building, causing a large-scale fire and destruction in the apartments. During the fire extinguishing, a second explosion was heard. 4 people were injured – among them three rescuers and an ambulance doctor,” the SES report says.

The fire, which covered an area of 400 square meters, was extinguished. Psychologists from the State Emergency Service provided assistance to 11 people.

45 rescuers and 11 units of special equipment were involved in the elimination of the consequences.
