Starting Friday, October 18, Ukraine will experience a noticeable cold snap, accompanied by rain and, in some places, even sleet.
Forecaster Natalia Didenko reported this on her Telegram channel.
October 18
According to the forecast, an active cyclone from the northwest will bring precipitation across almost the entire country. Only the Kherson, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Luhansk, and Dnipropetrovsk regions will remain rainless.
The western regions will be the first to feel the cold snap – during the day the temperature will only be +8…+12 °C.
In the rest of the territory, the temperature will remain at +12…+15 °C.
Overnight temperatures are expected to reach +4 to +10°C, with frosts unlikely except in the highlands of the Carpathians. Winds will increase to strong in the western regions.
Kyiv will be cloudy, humid, and moderately warm on October 18. Rain is expected in the afternoon, with gusty southwesterly winds.
October 19
On Saturday, the temperature will drop even more noticeably – during the day only +4…+8 °C, in the east and south up to +11…+15 °C.
Precipitation will continue across almost all of Ukraine, with wet snow possible in some places.
October 20
Cold weather will continue into the beginning of next week.
“This cold snap isn’t final, as winter is still in its infancy. However, consider insulating your homes, check your wardrobe, and if it’s chilly, spend the weekend at a museum—it’s easier to keep warm in a small house,” advised Natalia Didenko.
