A shell damaged a bus on the border between Ukraine and Moldova, injuring one person.

At approximately 9:38 a.m. on October 5, a shell landed near the Moldovan Palanca-Mayaki-Udobnoe checkpoint. It ricocheted and hit a bus parked near the barrier, injuring a border guard.

This was reported by Moldovan police, write NewsMaker and Ziarul de Gardă.

According to law enforcement, the border guard sustained a minor injury. There were no other injuries in the incident. The bus and the control booth were also damaged.

The checkpoint’s operations were suspended. Additionally, at approximately 10:50 AM, Moldovan authorities closed certain sections of roads in the direction of Palanca. These restrictions will remain in place until the incident is fully documented and investigated.

Citizens are urged to avoid travel to the area. Traffic is being rerouted toward the village of Tudora.
