A soldier detonated a grenade during an argument in Lviv Oblast, leaving many injured.

In Sheptytske, Lviv Oblast, a soldier detonated a grenade during a conflict with passersby. The explosion resulted in shrapnel wounds for four people.

This was reported by the police of the Lviv region.

The incident occurred on September 26 on Taras Shevchenko Avenue. Among the injured were three local women, aged 17, 18, and 56, and a 26-year-old man. All were hospitalized. According to medical personnel, their lives are not in danger.

Law enforcement officials determined that the grenade was detonated by a 36-year-old resident of the Sheptytskyi district, a serviceman on leave. The man was detained.

A criminal case has been opened under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—hooliganism with the use of a weapon. The penalty under this article is up to seven years’ imprisonment.

The court is expected to choose a preventive measure for the detainee in the near future.
