A southern cyclone will hit Ukraine: forecasters warn of snow, ice, and gale-force winds on February 18.

On February 18, Ukraine is expected to experience worsening weather conditions due to a southern cyclone, which will bring precipitation, icy conditions, and strong winds. The most severe conditions are forecast for the central regions of the country.

Where the most severe weather is expected
The heaviest precipitation is forecast for the central part of the country, with snow, sleet, rain, sleet accumulation, and ice possible. Strong northeasterly winds are also expected.
In the eastern regions, the weather will also be challenging, but rain is prevalent. In the south, rain is forecast, with sleet in places. The Odesa region could be particularly challenging, with heavy precipitation and gale-force winds possible.
The situation in the west and north
The cyclone will have a less severe impact on the western and northern regions, but snow, ice, and gusty winds are still expected there. In Kyiv, snow is likely mainly in the evening, and icy conditions will persist on the roads.
Temperature and when will warming come?
Last night, temperatures ranged from -5 to -9 degrees Celsius, with temperatures reaching -15 degrees Celsius in the northern regions. During the day on February 18, temperatures are expected to range from -2 to -7 degrees Celsius, while in the south and southeast, they will be around 0 degrees Celsius, and in Crimea, they will reach +10 degrees Celsius.
According to weather forecasters, the frosty weather, with fluctuating temperatures, will continue for several more days. A more persistent warming period with a thaw is expected around February 22-23.
Drivers and pedestrians are advised to exercise caution due to icy conditions and reduced visibility during precipitation.
