In Ukraine, for the period of martial law, a special border regime was introduced on land plots within a kilometer strip along the state border with Russia and Belarus.
This was reported by the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
The Cabinet of Ministers adopted the relevant resolution on August 17, 2026. It has already entered into force, and border guards have begun to implement the restrictions provided for by it.
Within this zone, free entry, stay, residence and movement of people is prohibited.
It is also forbidden to carry out work that is not related to repelling Russian aggression, defending Ukraine, or protecting the state border.
The restrictions apply to all land plots within a kilometer strip along the border.
As noted in the report, such measures should reduce risks to civilians and prevent unauthorized presence of people near the state border.
In particular, the special regime will only be in effect during martial law.
It was previously reported that in the Gomel region of Belarus, near the Ukrainian border, railway infrastructure is being built that will allow for the rapid unloading of heavy wheeled and tracked vehicles from military trains.
In addition, Russia has deployed units of the 101st Missile Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces, which is armed with the Oreshnik medium-range missile system, on the territory of Belarus. At the same time, there are currently no signs of Belarus preparing to directly enter the war against Ukraine.
