A regional state of emergency has been introduced in temporarily occupied Crimea and Sevastopol due to problems with electricity supply.
This was announced by the Russian-appointed head of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, and the head of the occupation administration of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov.
According to him, this decision is necessary to resolve economic issues and compensate for losses to residents and businesses.
He emphasized that the decision was made jointly with Sergey Aksyonov, the Russian-appointed head of the occupation administration of Crimea.
“The decision was made primarily to streamline issues of an economic nature. The legal regime of the National Emergency allows for the most prompt resolution of tasks related to organizing the stable functioning of all spheres on which the life support of the population depends,” Aksyonov noted.
Razvozhaev also reported that the situation with electricity supply on the peninsula remains difficult. He added that emergency restoration work has already begun.
According to him, energy workers plan to restore power supply in Sevastopol within the next 24 hours.
Mykhailo Razvozhaev noted that the emergency regime is necessary so that entrepreneurs can use it as a basis for applying force majeure circumstances when fulfilling contractual obligations.
The official also added that residents whose property was damaged due to the power outage will be able to apply to municipal commissions for compensation.
“This could be a failure of refrigerators and other household appliances,” the head of the Sevastopol administration noted.
In particular, Razvozhaev emphasized that the state of emergency began to operate on June 26 and will continue until the electricity supply situation stabilizes.
It was previously reported that on the night of June 26, drones attacked several facilities in Russia and temporarily occupied Crimea . The Azot chemical plant in Novomoskovsk, Tula region, as well as the Kerch district, where local residents reported a series of explosions and the work of air defense, were hit.
