A student in Kyiv attacked his class teacher and classmate with a knife: new details of the bloody incident

In Kyiv, the actions of a minor student who attacked a teacher and a classmate with a knife have been classified as attempted murder. Police have opened a criminal investigation into the attack at a school in the capital.

Law enforcement officers determined that on the morning of January 12, a 9th grade student put on a pre-prepared mask and helmet in the restroom while at school. After that, he ran into the classroom and attacked the 39-year-old class teacher and a 14-year-old classmate with a knife.

According to preliminary information, the minor victim was diagnosed with multiple slash wounds to the back and forearm. The teacher suffered stab wounds to the arms and abdomen. Both victims were hospitalized, and the severity of their injuries is being determined.

After the crime, the 14-year-old attacker locked himself in the restroom and stabbed himself in the arm and stomach. The minor is currently in a hospital, where he is receiving necessary medical care.

Based on this fact, investigators of the Obolon Police Department initiated criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 15 and Part 2, Clause 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – attempted murder of two or more people.

As part of the pre-trial investigation, law enforcement officers will establish the motive for the crime. During the investigation, correspondence with allegedly hostile intelligence services was found on the suspect’s phone. The investigation is currently ongoing.

The day before, it was reported that a student came to a school in Kyiv with a knife and attacked a teacher and another student . The victims are receiving medical assistance, and the attacker was detained by law enforcement officers.

Let us recall that on November 24 , a conflict arose between parents of students in one of the Lviv schools, which later escalated into shooting .

Earlier, law enforcement officers prevented a possible attack at a school in the Transcarpathian region, a 15-year-old boy was detained near the educational institution while he was carrying a knife in his backpack .
