A terrible road accident occurred in Vinnytsia region: a woman and a baby died, three more people were hospitalized

Today, July 12, a tragic accident in Vinnytsia region claimed the lives of two passengers, including a baby. The driver lost control – investigators are investigating the circumstances of the accident, which occurred between Kyslytskyi and Vapnyarka.

This was reported by the press service of the Vinnytsia region police.

In the Tulchyn district of Vinnytsia region, investigators are establishing the circumstances of a fatal road accident that occurred on Friday, July 12, between the village of Kyslytske and the village of Vapnyarka.

According to preliminary data, the 58-year-old driver of a KIA crossover lost control on a section of the road, drove off the roadway and collided with a tree.

As a result of the powerful impact, two passengers died on the spot — a 59-year-old woman and a one-and-a-half-month-old girl. Three more people — the driver himself, a 37-year-old woman, and a 6-year-old boy — were taken to the hospital with injuries. Medics are providing them with assistance, and their condition is being clarified.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated under Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of traffic rules, which led to the death of several people. The sanction of the article provides for 5 to 10 years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles.

A pre-trial investigation is currently underway. Investigators are establishing all the details of the tragedy — in particular, the technical condition of the car, weather conditions, possible driver fatigue, or other factors that could have led to the fatal collision.
