A tragedy occurred near Odessa: a truck hit soldiers at a checkpoint

A fatal traffic accident occurred near the village of Sukhyi Lyman, in the Odessa region: a truck ran over two servicemen who were near a mobile checkpoint. Both men died.

This was reported by the press service of the Odessa region police.

According to preliminary information, at around 7 a.m., a 63-year-old truck driver failed to notice the soldiers at the checkpoint and rammed into them. One of the injured died on the spot, while the other died in an ambulance on the way to the hospital.

The deceased were 34 and 36 years old.

The driver was tested for alcohol intoxication – the result showed that he was sober. According to him, he did not see any soldiers on the road.

The issue of entering information into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations, as well as the possible detention of the driver, is currently being resolved.

Traffic in the area where the accident occurred is currently difficult. Local residents are urged to take this into account when planning their trips.

As a reminder, in the Kharkiv region, police are investigating the circumstances of a traffic accident that occurred in the Chuhuyiv district. Seven people, including a minor, were injured in a collision between two cars.

As reported, in Mykolaiv , law enforcement officers are investigating the circumstances of a fatal accident involving a motorcycle . The driver died in the accident, and the passenger was injured.
