Ukraine provides the United States with a significant amount of intelligence. The US Senate emphasized that cooperation between the countries in this area is mutual.

This was reported by Ukrinform, citing a statement by the chairman of the US Senate Armed Services Committee, Roger Wicker, during the Warsaw Security Forum.

The American senator explained that Washington not only provides Kyiv with intelligence information, but also receives important data from Ukrainian partners.

“It’s a fact that the United States shares intelligence, but we also get a lot of intelligence from our Ukrainian friends,” Wicker said.

He called such cooperation a “two-way street.”

The senator separately drew attention to the worsening international security situation. According to his assessment, the world is facing the most serious threats since the period preceding World War II.

Wicker linked these threats to the cooperation of Russia, China, North Korea, and Iran. He is convinced that these states support each other, and Moscow could not continue its aggression against Ukraine on the current scale without Beijing’s help.

“There is no doubt that they help each other. There is no doubt that Russia could not act as it does in Ukraine without the help of China,” the senator emphasized.

In his opinion, the allies need to strengthen joint efforts in the security sphere. In particular, he positively assessed the decision of NATO countries to increase defense spending and called on the United States to cooperate more actively with partners in the Asia-Pacific region.

As a reminder, earlier it became known about Washington’s threats to stop intelligence sharing and arms supplies to Ukraine . According to the Financial Times, the American administration linked the possible restriction of support to Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries.

In addition, American officials pressured the Ukrainian military leadership to stop attacks on Russian refineries.
