A urologist in Transcarpathia sold “stones” to draft dodgers for fictitious diagnoses.

Law enforcement agencies have exposed a urologist in the city of Berehove in the Zakarpattia region who was selling fictitious diagnoses to men liable for military service to avoid mobilization.
The Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported this.
According to the investigation, the doctor demanded a bribe of 17,500 hryvnias from the men for a fictitious diagnosis of urolithiasis.
To make the diagnosis look convincing, the urologist gave the man a real stone that had recently been removed from a woman with cancer.
In the future, the conscript must provide this biomaterial during diagnostics to confirm the diagnosis.
Law enforcement officials documented the bribe being paid in two stages: first, the doctor received $100 and prepared the documents, and then another $300 for the cancer patient’s stone and the final processing of her medical history.
The doctor is accused of receiving an illegal benefit by an official, combined with extortion (Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The penalty under this article provides for imprisonment from five to ten years with confiscation of property and deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years.
Earlier, ” Pryamoy” reported that the SBU and National Police detained the perpetrator of the terrorist attack in Bucha, which occurred on the morning of March 23.
The perpetrator turned out to be a 21-year-old local resident. According to preliminary information, he was recruited by Russian intelligence services via the internet.
The Security Service and the National Police also dismantled eight draft evasion schemes in various regions of Ukraine and detained their organizers.
According to the investigation, the defendants offered conscripts the opportunity to avoid conscription for between $2,000 and $17,500. They produced counterfeit documents or facilitated illegal travel abroad outside of border crossing points.
