A Manhattan federal court sentenced musician Sean P. Diddy Combs to 50 months in prison after he was found guilty of prostitution-related charges. Judge Arun Subramanian announced the sentence.
NBC News reported this.
In addition, the judge fined P. Diddy $500,000 and placed him on five years of supervised release. However, Combs was acquitted of more serious charges of racketeering and human trafficking, which could have carried a life sentence. Prosecutors had sought more than 11 years, while defense attorneys argued for 14 months, taking into account time already served.
Since P. Diddy has been in custody since September 2024, he will receive credit for more than a year already served. During the hearing, the judge told the rapper he expected him to “make the most of this second chance.”
Combs showed little emotion in the courtroom as the verdict was read.
“I love you, I’m so sorry… I’ll be fine,” P.Diddy told his children and mother as he gathered his papers and left the courtroom with the marshals.
Fact: P. Diddy (Sean Combs) has been accused of several serious crimes. The charges include sexual assault, sex trafficking, kidnapping, and assault, including with a firearm. The women who filed the lawsuits allegedly described years of abuse. Some of the allegations relate to events dating back to the 1990s, as well as scandalous parties where, according to testimony, crimes may have occurred.
