A woman was arrested in Sevastopol after blowing up a Russian officer: what is known

In occupied Sevastopol, a Russian court has sent 32-year-old Russian citizen Margarita Reutt to pre-trial detention. She is accused of preparing an explosion that killed a Russian Defense Ministry officer.
This is reported by Russian media with reference to the so-called Leninsky District Court of occupied Sevastopol.
According to the Russian investigation, Reutt, together with other individuals, had been allegedly preparing to blow up a military base since July 25. On August 13, according to the occupiers, she detonated an explosive device near house number 30 on Stoletovsky Avenue.
The officer was seriously injured in the explosion, from which he later died. The woman was charged with “terrorist attack.”
According to the Russian project “VChK-OGPU” and blogger Anatoly Shariy, the deceased was Robert Shageev.
Before the occupation of Crimea, he served in the Ukrainian Navy. In 2014, Shageev defected to Russia and continued his service in the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
Russian and Ukrainian Telegram channels previously wrote that he held the position of deputy commander of the 4th separate submarine brigade of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
Russian pro-war blogger Alexander Talipov claims that the woman allegedly received a reward in cryptocurrency for the bombing. According to him, after the explosion, she planned to travel to Sochi and from there leave Russian territory.
At the same time, these claims, like the version of Russian security forces regarding Reutt’s role in the explosion, have no independent confirmation.
It is also known that the woman has already had problems with Russian law enforcement. In July 2025, a court fined her 30,000 rubles for so-called “discrediting the army” and also sentenced her to two days in prison for allegedly disobeying the police.
The reason was the incident on the Samara-Adler train during the attack by Ukrainian drones. According to the Russian court documents, after the UAV hit one of the railway stations, Reutt said: “That’s what you need, Russians…”.
It was previously reported that a man died in an explosion on Stoletovsky Avenue in occupied Sevastopol. Social media claimed that the explosives could have been placed in a trash can.
