A “yellow-level” magnetic storm will cover the Earth: how will it affect human health?

Solar activity is gradually increasing and soon the world will be covered by a “yellow level” magnetic storm.

According to satellite and laboratory data, geomagnetic activity with a k-index of 4 is expected on November 20-21.

Typically, this indicator corresponds to moderate or medium Earth perturbations and means minor fluctuations.

Although the “yellow level” is not characterized as a strong magnetic storm, solar activity can affect people’s well-being.

In particular, weather-sensitive people or people with chronic diseases may experience headaches, dizziness, weakness and fatigue, pressure fluctuations, and irritability.

To minimize the impact, experts advise getting a full 8 hours of sleep, avoiding overload, spending time outdoors, drinking plenty of water, and eating a balanced diet.

Among other things, a magnetic storm can trigger technical malfunctions — errors in the operation of high-precision GPS, increased load on the electronics of some satellites, etc.
