Former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky called on European partners to prepare now for a possible war.

The BBC writes about this based on an interview with Syrsky.

The publication notes that the general called on European partners to begin preparations for war now.

“Abandon all illusions that it will not come,” the general declared.

Syrsky appealed to European allies who doubt that Russia’s territorial ambitions could extend beyond Ukraine.

He specifically drew attention to the significant military resources that Russia continues to have despite heavy losses in the war.

According to Syrsky, in 2025 the ratio of aircraft to aerial bombs was about 18 to one in favor of Russia .

Also, according to his estimate, the Russian army had approximately two and a half times more artillery systems and ammunition.

In addition, Syrsky stated that Russia has about four million people with military training who it could potentially mobilize.

At the same time, the former commander-in-chief noted that the current war will continue to become increasingly technological.

According to him, the role of robotic systems, automation, and artificial intelligence will grow.

“Even conventional weapons are now receiving an artificial intelligence-based control system to expand their capabilities,” Syrsky said.

He also noted that Ukraine and Russia are working on active armored vehicle protection systems that can increase the effectiveness of conventional weapons, in particular tanks.

At the same time, Syrsky stressed that new technologies will not remove humans from the battlefield.

“The human role will remain crucial because humans will need to control these systems,” he said.

Recall that earlier Estonia began to transfer the main combat brigade closer to the border with Russia , switching to a strategy of “active defense”.

Ukrainian intelligence also warned about Russian special services preparing sabotage in EU and NATO countries .

On October 7, the NATO Military Committee arrived in Ukraine for the first time in eight years , where representatives of all 32 Alliance member states discussed war experiences and preparations for future threats.
