Accurate hit: intelligence destroyed the “heart” of Russian air defense in Crimea

On the night of August 28, Ukrainian special forces carried out a precision strike on one of the key elements of Russian air defense in temporarily occupied Crimea. The 91N6E radar complex, which is part of the S-400 Triumph system, was destroyed.

The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported on the successful operation on its Telegram channel.

The target was expensive and strategically important — this type of radar provides target detection for long-range anti-aircraft missile systems. Its destruction reduces the combat effectiveness of the occupiers’ air defenses in the region.

“Another ‘triumph’ of the occupiers on the peninsula turned into a fiasco. Crimea continues its path of demilitarization,” the intelligence service commented.

As a reminder, on the morning of August 26 , powerful explosions were heard in the temporarily occupied Crimea, causing panic among local residents, especially in the town of Dzhankoy. In the center of Dzhankoy, a Russian electronic warfare system allegedly shot down a drone. Firefighters, ambulances, and security forces arrived at the scene.

As reported, on the night of August 9-10, 2025 , the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a powerful Soviet-Russian radar “Skala-M” in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea . The elimination of this facility will significantly reduce the enemy’s ability to use aviation to strike Ukraine.
