Prosecutors of the Prosecutor General’s Office, accompanied by special forces, searched the home of an employee of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine. During the investigative actions, physical force was used against the employee, and the search itself took place without a court order.
This was reported by the NABU press service .
As noted in the Bureau, the search took place at around 3 a.m. on Tuesday, November 4. NABU emphasized that the employee was not served with a suspicion, and according to preliminary information, the search may be related to the performance of his official duties.
“Physical force was used against a NABU employee. The employee was not informed of any suspicion. The search took place without a court order and was likely related to the employee’s direct performance of professional duties,” the agency said.
The NABU clarified that the employee who was searched was involved in documenting a number of corruption cases and acted exclusively within the framework of Ukrainian legislation. The Bureau also reported that the employee had been under covert surveillance the day before.
All circumstances surrounding the incident and the individuals involved are currently being established.
Let us recall that on September 25, the Security Service of Ukraine, together with the State Bureau of Investigation, raided the home of former NABU detective Taras Likunov . The latter was once involved in investigating the case against former OP official Artem Shyl.
Previously, the Security Service of Ukraine and the Prosecutor General’s Office conducted a large-scale special operation to “neutralize Russian influence” on NABU detectives.
The day before, NABU announced the start of an internal investigation after the Security Service of Ukraine reported suspicions against one of the Bureau’s detectives. He is accused of declaring false data worth over 4 million hryvnias.
