Actor from Kharkiv worked for the enemy: SBU detained the informant

In Kharkiv, the SBU detained a former actor who worked for Russian intelligence services and helped coordinate missile strikes on the city.

This was reported by the press service of the SBU.

A 61-year-old man, previously employed at a local theater for children and youth, took photos and marked on maps the locations of Ukrainian military personnel, including reserve deployment points of the Defense Forces, under the guise of walking around the city. He passed the collected data through an acquaintance who remained in Russia – their communication took place in an anonymous chat on a popular messenger.

Cyber specialists of the Security Service managed to expose the agent at the initial stage of his espionage activities, after which they conducted searches in his apartment. There, they seized a phone with evidence of his illegal activities.

Investigators informed the detainee of suspicion under the article that provides for liability for unauthorized dissemination of information about the location of military personnel during martial law. He is currently in custody, facing up to eight years in prison.

The SBU emphasizes that thanks to operational actions, it was possible to protect important military facilities from possible attacks.

As a reminder, Ukrainian security forces prevented large-scale attacks that were being prepared by Russian intelligence. In several regions of the country, a network of agents preparing sabotage against military personnel was exposed. A total of six suspects were detained who were trying to carry out terrorist attacks using improvised explosive devices.

As reported, the Security Service of Ukraine detained an Air Force officer who was cooperating with the Russian FSB.
