Prince Harry took part in the “Unite for Freedom” charity evening in support of Ukraine. The event raised funds for organizations that help Ukraine and those affected by the war.

According to People , during the event, Prince Harry gave a speech in which he spoke about the historical ties between the United Kingdom and Ukraine, and also recalled his recent visits to the country.

“I saw something in Ukraine that I couldn’t take my eyes off. I met people who had lost limbs, homes, and loved ones – and yet somehow found the strength to recover…I spent time with members of the Ukrainian Invictus community: men and women who served their country and suffered life-changing injuries, but who continue to compete, lead, laugh, and look to the future.

“What I remember most is that resilience in Ukraine does not belong to one group. It belongs to the entire country. To those who protect the front lines. To those who treat the wounded. To those who support businesses, schools, and communities. To those who develop technologies that are changing the nature of modern warfare. And to those who rebuild today what was destroyed yesterday, knowing that it could be attacked again tomorrow. This is national resilience in its truest form,” Harry said.

He added that the resilience of Ukrainians “should never be an excuse for us to turn a blind eye to their suffering.”

“Ukrainians don’t have to prove year after year what they are capable of,” he continued. “Their courage deserves more than just admiration. It deserves our determination,” Harry added.

The Duke of Sussex, who spent decades in the British Army, has visited Ukraine several times in recent years, and much of his work has been dedicated to veterans and the wounded.
