Russian forces carried out a massive missile and drone attack on energy infrastructure facilities in several regions of Ukraine overnight and in the morning. As a result of the damage, consumers in 7 regions were left without electricity by morning.

This was reported by Ukrenergo .

The company noted that the strikes damaged power grid facilities, which led to power outages for some consumers in several regions. Currently, energy workers have begun emergency restoration work where the security situation allows.

Consumers in the following regions were left without electricity:

  • Kharkiv region;
  • Zaporizhzhia region;
  • Poltava region;
  • Vinnytsia region;
  • Odessa region;
  • Mykolaiv region;
  • Khmelnytskyi region.

The company reported that due to the current and previous massive attacks, forced power supply restrictions have been introduced in several regions. This includes the application of power restriction schedules for industry and hourly outages for all categories of consumers.

“Everywhere, where security conditions currently allow, emergency restoration work is already being carried out. Power engineers are doing everything possible to restore power to all consumers as soon as possible,” Ukrenergo reported.

The company also urged consumers to use electricity rationally. Due to weather conditions in most areas, it is recommended to postpone the use of powerful electrical appliances to daytime.

“It is advisable to postpone the use of powerful electrical appliances today to daytime – from 11:00 to 15:00. This is the period of the most efficient operation of solar power plants,” the company noted.

At the same time, in regions where restrictions are in place, it is advised to postpone active electricity consumption to the period of lowest load on the power system.

“In regions where restrictions continue to apply, it is advisable to postpone active energy consumption to the period of the lowest load on the power system – after 10:00 p.m.,” Ukrenergo reported.

As a reminder, on the night of March 7, Russian troops launched a massive airstrike on Ukraine, using missiles and drones.
